Savannah library offering free computer classes SAVANNAH, Mo. – Rolling Hills Library has two upcoming classes at its Savannah Branch to teach new skills to beginning computer users – or those needing refresher classes. Microsoft Word, the popular word processing software, will be taught from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15. Microsoft Word allows users to create and edit documents and includes tools for spell checking, adding graphics and changing type styles among its many options.

Savannah Building Inspector Resigns Savannah, MO (August 7, 2013) – On Tuesday, August 6, City Building Inspector Gene Grossman submitted his written resignation. The Board of Aldermen approved the resignation effective immediately. Grossman started working for Savannah as part time inspector March 2011. He was made full-time September 2012. Found dog: There's a new dog at the Savannah shelter. He is a large male Labrador with longer hair than a typical lab. He is black with a large white spot on his chest. He has a sweet disposition. For those that have not heard Sister Mary Ellen of the Sisters of St Francis Provincial House here in Savannah and a long time worker at Andrew County Food Pantry, has passed away from her long battle with health problems. At this time the Wake Service will be @ 7:00 p.m. Friday, with Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with a reception following. Because of a large group expected all services will be at the Mother Pia Conference Center located at 908 South 3rd Street (Franciscan Way) Savannah.

The Andrew County Emergency Management Agency has implemented a telephone system that enables them to notify the public of emergency situations. The service is free to the public. Wed, June 12: Between 2 and 3 p.m., Blue Valley will be testing storm sirens around town. The sirens will go off several times in different locations as coverage is tested. If there is bad weather, the test will be rescheduled so people aren’t confused thinking it is real warnings instead of just tests.
